SLES9 and mySap what config

Hello
Wondering if anybody can help me with some details of configuring a
SLES9 system to run mySAP
I have a couple of questions around the filesystem layout.
We plan on using two mirrored disks for the OS
and we were going to put the oracle DB and the rest of the application
storage on a SAN partition.
Am I better off using an LVM for the san component, or just assigning a
slice of disk? I am a bit mindfull of the recoverability of LVM's
also would EXT3 be a better choice over reiser considering the size of
files is large not small
